Memories. What, we wonder, could we receive from memories?
'Afterimages From Yesterday' comes from Jyugam's very own mafmadmaf and Yu Hein. As they tried to capture the passing images with lingering melodies from synthesizer, the ethereal drone and the casually placed sample embraced each other, eventually composing this nearly 30-minute experience. Just like those burning fragments left in our head after a afternoon nap: a clock, a bird, a figure by the window, a kettle that still holds some warmth, and the wind that never shows again. Countless sounds and images flow back to our minds. Why are these shadows from our past being recalled time and time again, and overlapping with our reality? Why, after waking up, does everything have to leave us again? We want Afterimages From Yesterday to be an open window. Outside are the clouds we look up at, and inside are the people under scrutiny.
mafmadmaf: Regarding the impression of time and space and the question of whether it should be nostalgic, the creators' personal expressions of the same theme together constitute the atmosphere of the moment. Created from a time and space that has passed, irreversible.
